“The Overlap of Giftedness and Social Emotional Functioning”

On November 30th, our School Psychologist, Dr. Marc Gerber was invited to present during Coffee and Tea with Ms. C.  The workshop was titled, “The Overlap of Giftedness and Social Emotional Functioning”. Parents learned of the available social and emotional support systems for TAG students including long-term and short-term interventions.

Picture Day

Friday, December 1st is picture day at TAG.  All students are to arrive at school in their full uniform, which includes ties and black or navy shoes. All students must be in uniform for class pictures.  Students who opt to take individual pictures in dress clothes other than their uniform will be permitted to change.  Students that are scheduled to have Physical Education should bring their gym clothes with them.  They will be allowed to change after their photos have been taken.  Please see the attached tentative Picture Day schedule.

TAG’s 6th Grade Admissions Information

The following are the steps involved for applying to TAG for 6th grade for the 2023-2024 school year.

  1. List TAG (04M012) as one of your choices on the Middle School Application
  2. The New York City Department of Middle School Admissions will evaluate all applications
  3. The New York City Department of Middle School Admissions will send out offer letters for those being accepted
  4. Other qualified students will be placed on a waitlist
  5. Offers from the waitlist will be made if seats are available, in sequential order, as per the waitlist

Coffee and Tea with Ms. C

Our next Coffee and Tea with Ms. Cesar will be held on Thursday, November 30th, at 8:15am, in the library.  This workshop was originally scheduled for Thursday, November 9th, but has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 30th.

Our topic will be “The Overlap of Giftedness and Social Emotional Functioning.” Dr. Marc Gerber, School Psychologist will present.

URGENT! 8th Grade Parent Meeting moved to Tuesday, October 10th

TAG will be hosting 8th Grade parent meetings, on Tuesday, October 10th.  There will be one session that begins at 8:30am and a repeat of the morning session beginning at 5:45pm.  Both sessions will be held in the library.  You only need to attend one session.

We will be discussing the High School Application Process, Senior Activities, Graduation Requirements, and other relevant information.

Ms. Yrigoyen and Ms. Arias-Vidal will be at both meetings.

If you previously sent an RSVP to the Tuesday, October 3rd meeting, which has been changed, please send another RSVP for the new meeting date.

Transportation Meeting, Wednesday, September 20 at 8:30am

Ms. Cesar has arranged to have representatives from the Office of Pupil Transportation to come to TAG to answer your questions and address your concerns about bus/transportation requests.

The meeting will be held in the TAG library on Wednesday, September 20th, at 8:30am.
