New Arrival and Dismissal Procedures due to Poor Richard’s Playground Construction Project

During Tuesday’s PTA meeting, Assistant Principal Dr. Cosme shared the news that the New York City Parks Department will begin construction on Poor Richard’s Playground. The area impacted will be the entire playground from 3rd Ave and 109 street, over to the basketball courts on 3rd Avenue. The basketball courts are not part of the construction project. (A diagram of the construction project is included at the end of this letter).

Construction is set to begin on February 22nd, while we are out for Mid-Winter break. These new patterns and procedures will be in effect when we return to school, Monday, February 28. These will remain in effect until further notice.

Morning Arrival for 5th-8th Grade Students

Due to the construction, we will not be able to access the big yard and basketball courts via 3rd avenue until 7:45am. All 5th – 8th grade students who arrive at TAG prior to 7:45am should come to the auditorium. At 7:45am, the gate on 3rd ave and 108th street will be opened for student arrival. As always, there will be no supervision in the yard or basketball courts until 7:45am.

Afternoon Dismissal for Kindergarten – 5th Grade

All Kindergarten through 5th Grade classes will continue to be dismissed from the basketball courts. The 3rd Avenue gate will be opened for parents at dismissal.
