TAG Students Win Art Competitions!

We would like to recognize three of our talented students at TAG for their achievements in this year’s P.S. Art and Manhattan Borough Arts Festival competitions.

Tasnim Sumaita (8th Grade) – 2019 Winner for PS ART (work to be displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art) this year.

Emi Winter (2nd Grade) – 2019 Winner for Borough Arts Festival (work to be displayed at the Museum of Modern Art).

Angel Chen (8th Grade) – 2019 Winner for Borough Arts Festival (work to be displayed at the Museum of Modern Art).

Each year P.S. Art acknowledges outstanding artwork and exemplary instruction in grades pre-K to 12 through a citywide competition, exhibition and catalog. The New York City Department of Education – in partnership with Studio in a School and the Metropolitan Museum of Art – convene panels of artists, arts professionals and art educators to serve in two rounds of judging. Final selections highlight exemplary artwork and practice as they relate to the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Visual Arts.

This is the 12th year the exhibition is exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
